Winter paddling in the San Francisco Bay is the best time of year to visit.

I love paddling in Northern California in the winter… the water is calm, there is very little fog and the temperature is just right in the 50′s & 60′s. What more can a guy ask for?

The photos were taken heading to and leaving Angel Island with some of my club members, and as you can see, it is flat as a pancake and the weather is gorgeous!

I would have to say that two of my favorite places to paddle in the winter are the Bay Area and further up the north coast in the Trinidad Area. The rock gardens and coastline are lovely this time of year and much more pleasant than the summer (foggy, breezy, wet & cold) time.
